I just downloaded Nearmap and it uninstalled Google Earth from my computer.

That's a bit rude.

Hi
How do you "download" Nearmap? For me it just runs in the browser? I had a quick look at the website but cant find anything to "download". GE is still alive and well on my PC.

Cheers
Greg

Near Map to my knowledge and my usage of it, you don't have to download anything for near map. I just use it in my browser.

Doesn't NearMap only cover Major Cities and some built up areas??

May limit your ability to look at the more remote areas??

Hi again...suspect the “disappearance” of GE from your PC has nothing to do with you using NearMap. When you say it’s gone do you just mean the shortcut on your desktop or the entire program? (which by default installs here C:\Program Files\Google)

Cheers

Near mapi I use Nearmap at work and it is very good for Metro images and also fairly current (which I need). Just checked and Google still o perates off my desktop as well.

Biggest issue with Nearmaps is that it will not accurately recognise addresses so to do a search you basically need to know where you're going and what to look at when you get there.

We use another spacial mapping program called Giosamba which is address specific but not as current so I use both at once.
